Catering Administration

We’ve managed to streamline the entire process of food preparation thanks to our years of experience working in high-density facilities where there are many mouths to feed.

One example of such a facility that we run catering software for is the Lindela Repatriation Centre where our catering administration system manages up to 27 000 meals daily. With this implementation of our catering management software, we’re able to smooth administrative processes in and around the kitchen. We’ve also researched and designed all preparation and serving areas to allow for optimum efficiency at each meal time. At present, through a contract with the South African Department of Correctional Services, we’re able to serve meals to offenders three times a day at four-hour intermissions. This means that our system currently administers over 190 000 plates of food per day  for correctional centres across the country.  

The Breakdown of the BOSASA Catering Software

Much of our organisational excellence is due to the TrustMASTER Catering Manager software (previously known as KAS, or ‘kitchen administration system’) that we developed. This is a centralised, automated data system, which performs many administrative functions and can effectively run a group of serving areas at an optimum level. There several few very useful tasks it performs, including:
  • Accounting –With trustMASTER Catering Manager, our clients have most of their paperwork taken care of as it captures all necessary information into a single invoice, which means they get only one statement with which to interact. This also enables a business to delegate manpower to more useful areas.

  • Tracks Your Supplies– Our software keeps track of stock and provisions, meaning that it is able to give our clients a clear overview of their current status. It also has an automated ordering function, which ensures that a kitchen never runs out of supplies – saving time and improving efficiency. Additionally, it computes the quantity of food being sent to various facilities if a client has more than one. It gauges then requirements of each facility and ensures that the levels are accurate according to their specific needs respectively.

  • Regular Reporting – With provision of daily reports, we gain valuable insight into important business data such as cash flow, supply expenses, stock numbers and financial controls. It also informs us of any irregularities or mistakes such as accounting errors and supplies being sent to the wrong place. This is invaluable as it allows us to correct any issues for our clients as they happen.

  • Armed with our expertise and invaluable software, we're able to provide our customers with cutting-edge catering management services.
