High Density Accomodation

High Density Accommodation

From large hotels to defence-force lodging, mining hostels and secure care facilities, high density accommodation is a vital ingredient for public and private businesses. Full facility management for high density accommodation units, needs to be as cost-effective as possible and still support the productive administration of business processes and organisational functions.

As part of our holistic suite of integrated facilities management services, BOSASA IFM manages its high density accommodation clients with a “no outsourcing” policy. In this way, all our services are issued from the BOSASA IFM family of providers which is anchored firmly within the groups support service system. This allows us not only to guarantee but to maintain the benchmarked standards we have become renowned for. We are also able to establish full control of each project, and prevent any lapses which may result in further problems for the facility.

Drawing on our established network of communications technology, hardware and human resource services, BOSASA IFM provides the full management of any high-density accommodation facility. From the very first instance, our CAD systems run the network point design, floor space allocation and, infrastructure planning that optimise space and operational flow.

Our building management software controls the automated aspects of all the accommodation, catering, and safety. Skilled teams of engineers, plumbers, carpenters and other multi-skilled handymen are on-hand to oversee the necessary building and hardware maintenance, as well as to perform other technical services. Prime examples of BOSASA IFM’s expertise in full facilities management are their 13 Youth Development Centres across South Africa, the services provided at the Lindela Repatriation facility in Mogale City, as well as the successful implementation of facilities management services to 7 primary hostels of the Goldfields mining group within Gauteng.

BOSASA IFM Youth Development Centres

These secure care facilities are an outstanding example of correctional centre facilities management. Software driven monitoring programmes deliver effective management of each of the 13 geographically distinct sites, while all remain connected and controllable from a centralised hub. Since the immediate goal for secure care facilities, such as the youth centres, is to minimise risk, BOSASA IFM also provides specially selected security officers who are trained and accredited in the technological aspects of high level surveillance and the evaluation of human behaviour whilst being sensitive to an environment that is constructive to youth development. In order to improve the efficiency of the facility, BOSASA IFM’s systems – supported by the solid Group infrastructure – aid seamless communication and action.

Lindela Repatriation Centre

Another example of BOSASA IFM’s outstanding facilities management potential, as well as our dedication to national interest is Lindela detention centre. Established in 1996, the centre has developed strategies to safely hold non-documented migrants in South Africa. A crossroads for thousands of people every year, the facility must operate at the strictest levels of security and safety, while complying with the lawful criteria that ensure good governance and uphold the rights of migrants and refugees. In partnership with the Department of Home Affairs, BOSASA IFM’s systems facilitate the administration of accommodation, catering, maintenance and security at Lindela. In keeping with our holistic approach, we also see to the health and safety requirements and the recreational needs of those housed there.
