Staff Wellness & Education Training

BOSASA Gives Back with Employee Wellness Training

A company will thrive when its employees are happy and healthy, both at work and in their private lives. This is why BOSASA chose to engage in a programme of employee wellness training. Under the guidance of Dr. Thembi Modungwa and Dr. Denise Bjorkman, BOSASA has set the benchmark for these important initiatives.

Utilising the knowledge and training that these professionals bring to the table we have assembled a world class service. Ranging from basic health and fitness, psychological well-being and coaching through to legal aid and advice the employee wellness training is another shining example of BOSASA's holistic approach to business and life.

BOSASA believes in growing the skills of our staff and offering them assistance in a holistic manner.
The following portfolio of services is available to our employees and their immediate families at the employee wellness training facilities:
Diabetes and Hypertension Awareness -
South Africans are highly susceptible to both diabetes and hypertension. This is due to our diets, lifestyles and genetic makeup. We offer information on prevention and treatment, education on dietary and lifestyle changes as well as blood pressure testing.
Life-Skills Training –
Training programmes dealing with problem solving, conflict resolution, money management and budgeting, is now a formal service within the centres repertoire. These courses also cover stress management and effective decision making.
Coaching and Mentoring –
The Mogale Business Park plays host to a faction of the South African Council of Coaches and Mentors (SACCM). We offer a range of personal development programmes through long and short term coaching and mentoring, as well as external mentors through the SACCM – all free of charge.
Parenting and Child Development –
This service aims to assist parents and children with practical study habits and subject matter comprehension, reading skills and critical thinking training. This makes a big difference in the parent’s ability to play a role in the education of their child and empower them to better themselves of their own accord.
Small Business Development –
The aim of these programmes is to assist immediate family members of staff who have not been able to find employment or those who need an extra income. We offer support and advice in the creation and management of small to micro businesses that can be operated over the weekend.
Career Planning –
Focusing on vocational, tertiary learning and degree choices, we offer advice and guidance to BOSASA personnel and their families.
Study Support –
Our extensive library and research services provide staff with access to information that will assist in their studies. BOSASA believes that the education of our personnel and their families directly benefit our company and sees fit to encourage it.
Legal Support Programmes –
Services include court room support and case preparation as well as expert witness support for a variety of cases. We have also assisted in fighting minor legal consumer battles on behalf of our staff.

BOSASA has included a system, in which cases that require specialised expertise can be referred appropriately and speedily. These are also monitored and recorded to assure the best outcome for every participant in our programmes. All of our centres across South Africa keep detailed records of resources and support groups for the benefit of staff that may need additional assistance in any matter.

Through the wellness training programmes you’ll see BOSASA giving back to the people who have made our company great.
